Invite Members of Congress to Your Lumberyard During the August Recess

Saturday, August 1, 2015

NLBMDA members should take action during the August Recess by meeting with their members of Congress at the district and state levels during the annual summer break. Both the Senate and House leave Washington, D.C. in a few weeks. The House of Representatives leaves July 30. The Senate leaves August 7. Both chambers will return to Capitol Hill on September 8.

Contact your district and Senate offices, set up meetings with them over the break, and even invite them to tour your lumberyard. NLBMDA staff and your state and regional association executive are happy to help in providing you with the tools you need to engage your elected officials during the break.

More information can be found at the August Recess Action Center. Once you have made an appointment, or if you have any questions about making an appointment, please contact Ben Gann, NLBMDA’s Vice President of Legislative and Political Affairs at Ben@dealer.org.
