Below are volunteer opportunities FBMA has available in terms and throughout the year.  Volunteers must be members of FBMA.  If you wish to volunteer in any of the capacities below, simply complete the following information form  and our staff will contact you shortly.

Board of Directors
The election of all officers and directors will be held at the annual meeting of the Association each year.  Officers' and Directors' terms of office will begin on January 1.  Officers will serve a one (1) year term.  Division Chairmen or Division Representatives and all other Directors shall serve a two (2) year term.  No Officer or Director will serve more than two (2) successive terms.  To promote continuity on the Board of Directors, Directors' terms will be staggered.  Associate members may serve as Associate Vice Chairman.  Associate members shall not serve as Chairman of the Board of the Association.  The position of Associate Vice Chairman shall be selected from the associate members of FBMA.  The Board of Directors will hold a minimum of three (3) Board meetings annually.  However, special meetings of the Board may be called by the Chairman of the Board or by a majority of the Board of Directors.  No more than two (2) persons from one company may serve on the Board of Directors at the same time.  Only one (1) person from a company may serve as an officer of the Association at any given time.

Membership Committee
Charged with recruiting and retaining members, this committee usually meets four times a year.  Committee members can volunteer from one to several years.

Convention Committee
This committee oversees The MAIN Event and Gulf Atlantic Building Products Expo, FBMA's annual convention and trade show.  The committee meets two to three times a year.  Committee members can volunteer from one to several years.

Government Relations/PAC Committee
This committee oversees the Association’s government relations program, making recommendations and lending technical advice to the Vice President of Government Affairs.  This committee usually meets in person twice during the year and by conference call as needed.  Since the committee serves as the PAC Board, members must be current contributors to the FBMA Political Action Committee.

Tactical Ongoing Planning (TOP) Committee
Is charged with developing long-range goals and objectives for the Association.  The committee usually meets two to three times during the course of the year and members can serve from one to several years.

Building Code Oversight Committee
Responsible for reviewing proposed building code amendments as to their affect on various products.  The committee consists of individuals familiar with Florida Building Codes and amendment processes.  The committee meets when the Chair or other members deem it necessary and usually during the time of the Florida Building Code Commission meetings.

Associate Member Council
The idea of forming the Associate Member Council with a mission of recommendations to the Board of Directors policies, procedures and programs that will improve the value of membership to Associate Members.  This committee meets as needed and committee members can volunteer from one to several years.  Members must be Associate members of FBMA.

Winter Education Conference Committee
This committee oversees the annual Winter Education Conference.  The committee meets as needed and committee members can volunteer from one to several years. 

Outreach Committee
FBMA has identified Give Kids the World as a local non-profit it supports.  Committee members volunteer their efforts soliciting funds and donations for expansion projects and at times volunteer onsite at Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida.  This committee meets as needed and commitee members can volunteer from one to several years.

Insurance Committee
The insurance committee reviews plans and benefits applicable to members of FBMA.  This committee meets as needed and committee members can volunteer from one to several years.

Special Event Volunteers
FBMA members can assist the administrative staff throughout the year with golf registrations, hole-in-one verifications, cocktail receptions, Texas Hold-Em poker tournament dealers and more!  If interested in volunteering in this capacity, complete the form below so that you can be contacted when assistance is needed.  This is a great opportunity to meet members.
